Vice-Principal for Student Experience, Teaching and Learning at Queen Mary

Professor Rebecca Lingwood, Vice-Principal for Student Experience, Teaching and Learning, will be leaving Queen Mary this month to take up a new role as Provost of Brunel University London.

5 June 2018

Rebecca joined Queen Mary in 2015, and in her three years as Vice-Principal she has led a series of transformational strategic projects spanning both education and research that have had a demonstrable impact on the university – not least the inception and delivery of the QMUL Model.

Rebecca has also, for example, led our strategic development of Queen Mary Digital (delivering postgraduate taught programmes online) and the development of our Degree Apprenticeship programmes.

On behalf of the whole Queen Mary community, the Principal Professor Colin Bailey has thanked Rebecca for her leadership and expertise.

Interim Vice-Principal for Education

Professor Stephanie Marshall will join Queen Mary on Tuesday 19 June as our Interim Vice-Principal (Education).

Stephanie was previously Chief Executive Officer of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). At the HEA, she led its transformation from a government-funded organisation to become a highly successful, sustainable organisation with extensive global reach and membership spanning 45 countries worldwide.

Stephanie has a global reputation for developing and promoting innovation in teaching and learning. She is passionate about higher education enabling an inclusive society, underpinned by an absolute commitment to equality, diversity and the public good. I am delighted that she will be joining the Senior Executive team to help shape our wider teaching and learning agenda, nationally and internationally.

You can read more about her leadership achievements and academic background on our news pages.
