QMUL Model Extra programmes are a suite of 5 extra-curricular employability programmes hosted by the Queen Mary Careers & Enterprise or Professional Development teams. All programmes meet at least one of the QMUL Model themes.
Model Extra programmes are offered in addition to, and complementing, your credit-bearing QMUL Model modules run by Schools or Institutes. Although non-credit bearing, all programmes run regularly throughout a semester (generally once a week) and include bespoke training sessions designed to help you build your CV and professional skills.

QIncubator – build the skills to launch a business or social enterprise.

Who are they for?
Model Extra programmes are open to all undergraduate students who will be studying at Queen Mary in 2018-19 academic year. You may be from any School or Institute, so you’ll meet people from different disciplines. Whatever your areas of study, you’ll have an equal chance in the application process.
Why should I apply?
All Model Extra programmes are designed to build your employability, professional networks and confidence. You’ll benefit from face-to-face coaching from professional experts who will help you apply what you’ve learnt going forward. Successful completion of QMUL Model Extra programme will appear on your HEAR (Higher Education Achievement Record).
The QMUL Model Extra programmes are also mapped to QMUL Model themes so you can be confident that they’ve been designed and structured to complement the development of your professional skills.
How do I apply?
To participate in Semester A, you need to apply by Monday 3rd September 2018 at 10am. Each programme has its own application form so to apply to a programme please click on the ‘more information’ link in the description of the programme listed above.
Please note you can apply to more than one QMUL Extra programme. However, if offered a place on more than one programme you must choose only one programme to participate in during Semester A 2018.
